ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS:
FOR PRODUCTS OTHER THAN WEARABLES

Adobe Illustrator v. CS version 11.0 or earlier

These are vector files that we are ABLE to manipulate and color separate if needed. This is the type of file we prefer. Please convert any fonts to Outlines. Please save with extension (.ai or .eps). (This will help prevent any problems with mac files so that the pc can recognize the file type.)

Adobe Photoshop v. CS version 8.0 or earlier

These are pixel (photo) images that we are UNABLE to manipulate if needed.

  • If the art is spot color with no screentints, it needs to be saved as a bitmap, tiff or eps image at approximately 800 pixels per inch.

  • If the art is spot color with screentints, it needs to be saved as a grayscale tiff or eps image at approximately 800 pixels per inch.

  • If this is a 4 C/P job, the art needs to be saved as a CMYK tiff or eps file and larger or at least the final size needed for printing with at least 300 pixels per inch. (we can convert RGB file to CMYK, however this will alter the color).

Freehand v. X version 11.0 or earlier

These are vector files that we are ABLE to manipulate if needed. This type of file is preferred. Please convert any fonts to Paths, and save file out with its extension.

QuarkXpress v. 6.0 or earlier

PLEASE NOTE:We do not except True Type fonts (these are PC formatted fonts that are not compatible with our Macs), If you only have True Type Fonts, every attempt will be made to match your font sample as closely as possible, and you will receive a proof prior to the order being processed). Any supporting placed images must follow Illustrator, Photoshop & Freehand Guidelines above.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept True Type fonts (these are PC formatted fonts that are not compatible with our Mac's), If you only have True Type Fonts, every attempt will be made to match your font sample as closely as possible, and you will receive a proof prior to the order being processed). Any supporting placed images must follow Illustrator, Photoshop, and Freehand Guidelines above.

Corel Draw v. 10.0 or earlier

We prefer not to receive these files if you create art in Corel, please send art saved as an ai. (Adobe Illustrator) file with the fonts converted to Curves.

SPECS FOR ALL TYPES OF ELECTRONIC ART:

  • We can accept art: Via Email, Zip Disk, Jaz Disk and CD Rom

  • Compressed files should be sent in Stuffit or PK Zip.

  • Keep all text and art/logos 3/32 from all cuts.

  • If art has bleeds, it needs to bleed past the cuts 1/8".

  • Lines and imprint need to be at least .5pt thick so it does not break up or fill in.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS, SOLUTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS:

Convert fonts to outlines/paths/curves and saving terminology

  • Corel Draw: needs to be saved as an ai. file (Adobe Illustrator) with the fonts converted to curves.

  • Illustrator: convert fonts to Outlines and save as an eps file.

  • Freehand: convert fonts to Paths and export as an eps file.

  • AOL: Sometimes AOL corrupts vector eps files. Zipping or Stuffing the files before emailing should prevent that issue.

Please Note:

We DO NOT accept, Excel, Publisher or Powerpoint files.

Vector art is a file that we are able to manipulate if it does not meet our specs. This would consist of trapping, color separating and resizing if needed.
